With a pre-made ball pit, some of them have balls included and even the cheapest inflatable ball pits can cost right at or below $50. It just depends on what you want with it, whether you want a tunnel or a large castle sized ball pit. A basic round style ball pit can cost you even less and in some cases only about $20.
From there, you have to look at what you are getting. Most pre-made ball pits have a netted enclosure to keep the balls inside. They are typically “fold and go”, which means you can have it inside or outside of your home. Set up takes normally only a few minutes of your time. They are brightly colored and give your kids the opportunity to not only enjoy a ball pit, but more. Some have slides, things to climb, and bouncing areas as well.
In short, you could easily make a ball pit using balls and things you may already have around the house, but when you choose a ready-made ball pit, you get more.
