postheadericon Muchy Foodle American Cereal

One thing you can count on is that kids (and even some adults) will always have a love sweet cereal. The truth is in the sales. Considering this fact, it was a tad bizarre in the mid 1990’s when Lucky Charms cereal was suddenly no longer commercially available in the UK.

Of course, it didn’t take long for urban myths to spread, with people claiming Lucky Charms were outlawed in the UK among other things. However, it couldn’t have been further from the truth. The government had no vendetta against the brand, there was no legislation against it. The truth is the withdrawal of the brand from UK shelves has never been explained. postheadericon Little Tikes Toy Box

Little Tikes are a great company that produce well-built fun toys. This is a list of three items that I really like.

Toy Storage

As well as producing wonderful toys they also make a range called little tikes toy box. There are two types, the sort and store and the giant toy box. Both are made of plastic but I chose the sort and store because there was no assembly required. I like the sort and store because of the great color schemes it offers and the two drawers underneath are great for storing small items like craft and cars. The lid is not attached which is a nice safety feature. This is a sturdy toy chest and I have found that I can store a lot of toys in it. I found this to be a fantastic piece of furniture for my toy storage solutions.

Plastic Slide

My son had this slide for his first birthday and is still using it two and a half years later. What I like about this slide is that it is well built and sturdy. You can use it indoors or out. We left it outdoors during March and it got a little bit dirty. After a quick wipe down with a damp cloth it was fine again and we brought it back indoors.
We have also used it as a water slide by putting it in a paddling pool and pouring water down it. This is when we discovered that there must be a small hole at the bottom because when we came back the next day, the lower half was full of water. We simply placed it upside down and it drained perfectly. I fear that this will be his last summer with it because he is starting to get too big. However his sister is now one and an ideal size for the slide. cheap payday loans at

Classic Cozy Coupe Car

My son absolutely loves this ride on car. We first came across it at a baby and toddler group and he would spend hours driving up and down the hall in it. He also loves using the one at the local soft play center we go to. There have been times when he has not touched the soft play area at all because he has been in the cozy car the whole time! These cars are well built and can take quite a lot of rough play. The cars at the baby and toddler group have been there for years and still keep going. The only downside is that because of the size of them we cannot fit one in our house or garden. This is a wish list item alongside a bigger house and garden to fit it in!

postheadericon Top 5 Ways Your Child is Gifted

Gifted is, in many ways, a relative term as it pertains to the qualities a child may or may not possess. In fact, there is not a standard definition of gifted that is accepted by every country, state, or organization. The Federal definition, as part of the No Child Left Behind Act, reads: “The term ‘gifted and talented,” when used with respect to students, children, or youth, means students, children, or youth who give evidence of high achievement capability in such areas as intellectual, creative, artistic, or leadership capacity, or in specific academic fields, and who need services or activities not ordinarily provided by the school in order to fully develop those capabilities.” Read the rest of this entry »

postheadericon How Playing with Toys Benefits Kids Development

As kids grow, they also need to develop mentally and socially. It is not possible for parents to be next to their kids all the time
and teach them new things that are important for their intellectual and social development.

On the other hand, parents may be unable to use a language that easily understood by kids.
This is where the use of toys comes in to support the early development of a child. It is therefore essential for parents to get their children
different toys to play with and learn new things. The following are four key benefits that kids get from playing with toys. Read the rest of this entry »

postheadericon Safe Use of Educational Technology as a Tool for Homeschooling Parents

There has never been a better time to choose homeschooling as an education option with the wide array of technological tools available to make planning, learning, and connecting as easy as a Wifi connection. However, there are pitfalls that must be considered as well, especially in a Christian household. A simple internet search can easily lead an unsuspecting child to images and articles that are inappropriate or even obscene. Many search engines and apps have built-in parental control features and utilize user-generated information to block specific hashtags and searches. Unfortunately, too often those safety features are not as savvy as the producers of the inappropriate content. Read the rest of this entry »

A misconception of pamper parties for kids is that it they aren’t age appropriate. There isn’t an issue with this, provided you only use age appropriate beauty products for the party. postheadericon Baby’s First Weeks: Better in a Baby Carrier

Imagine this: You’re nestled comfortably in your bed for a nice, long nap, cushioned by big pillows and a warm, fluffy comforter. Now imagine being suddenly snatched out of bed and laid on your back on the hard floor.

Feels cold, uncomfortable, and lonely, doesn’t it?

Now imagine how it feels for babies to go straight from the comfortable womb—the only home they’ve ever known—into cribs, car seats, and strollers. Not a very gentle transition into the world, is it? But parents and babies can take heart: Baby carriers and baby wraps provide a warmer welcome to life outside the womb. Read the rest of this entry »

postheadericon Build your own Lego creations

Building with Lego blocks is not only fun but also educational. Many parents get angry at their children because they make creations only according to the plans found in a Lego box. In response to  that problem, Lego factory made new interesting systems, such as Lego Creator, where there are more plans included. In addition, there are sets of bricks, where only basic building blocks such as bricks are available or just tires or the roof elements. So you have many more options right away.

Before you start to make your own creation, it is always necessary to have a good plan – and, of course, a huge amount of Lego bricks. Lego bricks can be ordered in many websites. Also you can buy a variety of sorting cabinets with large and small drawers. Sorted in that way, you will always know where you have your bricks. Well, almost always. 🙂

Very common are the urban (City) creations. You can decide to construct the building in your surrounding area or just use your imagination. Many prefer to build fairy-tale castles. They may be clean gray or quite colorful. Gray cubes are of course cheaper, easier to get, and the result is that castles are usually assembled from them.

To create a classic castle size you need at least the 700-1500 blocks but for a larger fortification, you will need at least several times as much. When we made our own creations, we used about 15000 to 40000 blocks, but it is not uncommon to use even much more. When there are lots of smaller bricks used (size 1×1) for your creation, you can require up to half a million bricks. This on the end is also a big financial investment – but Lego bricks are forever.

postheadericon Tips To Avoid Those Infamous Two’s Tantrums

I can’t speak from memory (it was a while ago), but I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to be two years old. My son, James, turned two in December last year, and seems to be growing more mature by the week. James has just learned to create two- and three-word sentences. “No I not” is on the top of the list of his favorites. Knowing that he now has a choice in doing activities, though, makes it very tough for mom. Bath time? “No, I not.” Time to interrupt trains and go to the doctor? “No, I not.” Bed time? You guessed it! Read the rest of this entry »

From mid-November to the end of December consumers are bombarded with advertisements of “doorbuster” sales.
